Bryan Adams photographed leaving Perth after RAC Arena concert cancelled, fans refunded
Bryan Adams is set to leave WA on Monday after his sold-out concert at RAC Arena was cancelled due to an “unsafe” sewer blockage.
The 65-year-old rocker was photographed at Perth Airport on his way to the domestic terminal to board his flight to Sydney where he is set to perform on Wednesday night.
Adams sported a brown long-sleeve shirt over another shirt which he paired with grey trousers and white sneakers.
He accessorised his comfy plane outfit with stylish aviator sunglasses and had run plenty of hair gel through his locks.
His swift exit from the WA comes after thousands of fans were sent packing from RAC Arena on Sunday night where he was due to perform his rock hits.
The concert couldn’t go ahead because of a fatberg consisting of fat, grease and rags blocking a sewer main along Wellington Street.
Frontier Touring posted on Monday morning that the show could not be rescheduled and attendees will receive an automatic refund in full.
According to the Water Corporation, the blockage was hard to dislodge, they also provided advice to organisers regarding the public health risk of potential wastewater overflows within the arena.
Frontier Touring labelled the concert cancellation as “bitterly disappointing”.
“Last night’s concert could not proceed due to an external Perth Water Corporation issue, which was unable to be fixed in time. The issue, which impacted all of Wellington Street, meant that it was deemed unsafe for patrons to enter RAC Arena,” the statement read.
“Tickets will be automatically refunded in full (including refundable ticket purchase, if relevant) to the original payment method used for purchase and patrons do not need to take any action.
“Patrons should allow approximately 30 business days for the refund to appear in their account. (Please do not contact Ticketek regarding your refund.)
“The cancellation of the show is bitterly disappointing, and we thank fans for their understanding that while every effort was made for the show to proceed, this matter was outside of the control of Bryan Adams, Frontier Touring and RAC Arena.”
Adams will wrap up his Australian tour in Brisbane on Thursday.
