Charlotte Douglas International Airport seeing cancellations, delays



CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Delays and cancellations piled up at Charlotte Douglas International Airport as the area was hit with severe weather Wednesday morning. 

Inbound flights not yet in the air bound for Charlotte were being held at their originating airport because of severe weather in Charlotte, though flights have since resumed. The flights that were waiting to land at Charlotte Douglas International Airport could be seen on a flight tracker circling over the western North Carolina mountains. 

It’s important to note, these cancellations and delays can also be reflective of bad weather in other places in addition to weather impacts in Charlotte.

Strong storms with the possibility of damaging winds are the reason to stay alert for severe weather on Wednesday morning in Charlotte.
