Multiple vehicle crash I-85 in Charlotte, NC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a crash involving multiple vehicles and a truck on Interstate 85 in Charlotte’s University City neighborhood.

The crash occurred on Interstate 85 northbound near University City Boulevard. Northbound delays stretched back several miles through at least West Sugar Creek Road. The impacted lanes have since reopened.  

The crash came at a time when severe storms were moving through the Carolinas. The storms produced heavy rain, wet roads and gusty winds.
